J.P. Flaum and Becky Winkler just finished a study that shows the most important skills in the workforce are interpersonal skills. For someone to get ahead, intelligence didn’t matter as much; a less prestigious candidate can always be trained. J.P. Flaum is the Managing Partner of Green Peak Partners, a management consulting firm with offices in Atlanta, Charlotte, Denver, New York and San Francisco. Prior to Green Peak, J.P. was a top producing Managing Director with ghSMART for 5 years. J.P. helped build ghSMART from three full-time people to over 15 respected consultants serving half of the world’s top-ten private equity firms as clients. He also founded and ran the firm’s executive coaching practice and has personally coached dozens of top performing leaders. Becky Winkler is a Principal at Green Peak Partners. During her career, Becky has conducted over a thousand executive-level assessments helping CEOs make smart decisions about their human capital. She has also coached numerous leaders, enabling them to achieve peak performance. On a larger scale, her strategic design and implementation of talent management systems has helped facilitate succession planning, and her broader background in organizational assessment and structural design provides useful tools to help CEOs meet strategic business objectives.
